Procrastination has been the theme this week. I was supposed to start packing for our trip over the weekend, I got the diaper bag packed which consists of throwing diapers and wipes in. So last night I decided to get some serious packing done….what really happened was that I spent an hour+ going through my beauty minis and deciding what toiletries and makeup I would take. So now with one day left, I have exactly one diaper bag and one makeup & toiletry bag packed. And of course instead of packing, I’m now writing a blog post about travel essentials.
Lately Sephora has been giving away lots of skincare sample bags to VIB/Rouge members. They have included some really great brands like Sunday Riley, Tata Harper, Ole Henriksen, Pharmacy and Fresh. These are perfect for travel so I packed a bunch of these and then also took my travel size versions of the following:
- Sunday Riley Tidal Enzyme Brightening Cream
- Tatcha One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil
- Tatcha Polished Classic Rice Enzyme Powder
My makeup that I’m taking is similar to the recent post I did on my current beauty routine. I’ve added in Hourglass blush in Mood Exposure, The Estee Edit lipstick and lip pencil in In the Buff, Josie Maran Vibrancy foundation (full review on that coming Friday) and the Cover FX Enhance Click Highlighter in Bubbly.
I’ve always quite enjoyed the Toronto to London red eye flight. It’s around 7 and a half hours and leaves at 11p or midnight. I usually get a relatively well rested full night’s sleep and can then transition to the new time zone quickly. Here is what I usually include in my carry on….of course I probably won’t be able to use half of these things this time around as travelling with a 4 month old means that A) most of my carry on bag will be filled with baby things and B) if Poppy isn’t sleeping then fat chance I’ll be pulling out the old neck pillow and sleep mask, ha!
- Neck pillow – Muji
- Highly moisturizing lip balms – Bite Agave Lip Mask or Aerin Rose Lip Conditioner
- Face Wipes – Ole Henriksen or Good Things
- Noise cancelling headphones – Frends
- Sleep Mask
- Warm socks
- Cozy scarf – Rag & Bone
- Kobo Glo
There is a post scheduled for Friday, a full review of several Josie Maran products I have been testing recently. More travel posts coming next week but not to worry, there will be plenty of beauty content included! If you’d like to follow along on our trip, you can keep up to date via my instagram (@vmosays).
