Welcome back for Part 2 of my wild shopping excursion to Boots and Superdrug. Let’s dive back in shall we?
I found this really cute makeup bag at Boots which reminds me of Lulu Guinness. It’s a decently sized canvas bag which is perfect for holding my makeup (and will even fit the Estee Edit’s giant bronzer!).
Another brand that I’ve heard a lot about is Lanolips, which is also unavailable in Canada so I was very excited to try this out! I bought the Lemonade lip treatment and didn’t think much of it to be honest. The formula was thin and the flavour reminded me of lemon scented Lysol. It was a disappointment and I could’t really understand what the hype was about. However I later decided to go back and give a different version a try – the 101 Ointment in Peach and now I see why people love Lanolips! The formula is rich and moisturizing and the scent is amazing! I wish I would have got a couple of the other scents like strawberry or banana. I do highly recommend the 101 Ointment though if you come across these!
If you’ve read my previous post on makeup brushes then you’ll know that I’m a big fan of Real Techniques brushes. I noticed this new one which is part of the Bold Metals Collection and I can’t wait to try it out and report back.
I needed to get a quick neutral nail polish during the trip – something durable, that I could slap one coat on and wouldn’t look obvious if it started to chip. A handy go-to brand that I’ve used before is Model’s Own, it’s inexpensive, applies nicely and wears reasonably well. So I went with the shade Prude Nude. The picture above is just one coat and it lasted for a good 5/6 days before it started to chip. It would probably last even longer with a second or top coat!
And last but certainly not least, I picked up my trusty Batiste dry shampoo which I always keep in stock. The Divine Dark one which is the only scent I really like and also helps to avoid that white powdery residue that the non tinted ones can leave behind if you don’t brush them in properly. I used to only be able to find this version of Batiste at Winners here in Canada but Shoppers Drug Mart has recently started carrying Divine Dark (at a premium price) so you might want to stock up when it goes on sale.
That rounds out my Boots and Superdrug haul. Let me know in the comments below if you have any favourite stores to visit or brands you like to purchase while travelling. I’m always interested in discovering new beauty brands from different countries.
