Josie Maran’s Divine Drip Honey Butter Balm Review

Bit of a mouthful isn’t it……the name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue. So for all intents and purposes, let’s just call it Honey Butter. It comes in two scents (Pure Honey or Honey Peach) and I received a sample of the Pure Honey some time ago but didn’t try it right away and kind of forgot about it. I then came across it again when I was organizing a drawer and decided to try it being on a mission to use up a bunch of samples and clear out some stuff. I was just using it on my hands as the balm is quite thick but I quickly started to look forward to using it each night. That probably sounds ridiculous and it’s certainly not a ringing endorsement for how exciting my life is, ha. But it was just that nice and I was kind of sad when the sample ran out so I went back to buy the full size.

I always find it interesting to read reviews and see what other people think of products. Funnily enough this particular scent seems to garner a very polarizing reaction, people either love or hate it. Comments ranged from “it doesn’t have any smell” and “the scent isn’t overpowering” to “it smells like butter” and “I felt like I was buttered up to be cooked for Christmas dinner”. Everyone did seem to agree that the texture and effectiveness was good but people were on one end or the other over the scent.

Anyway, here are my first impressions of the Honey Butter:

  • Rich and creamy texture
  • Scent is subtle and pleasant, very natural smell to it
  • Formula is hydrating and not too greasy
  • Absorbs well into the skin
  • On the pricier side

It’s a very nice body butter balm but on the pricier end at $52 CAD for 5 oz. I use it mostly just on my hands because I wash them about a million times a day so it will last for some time but if you were to use this all over your body, you would likely get through it quite quickly. Most of the ingredients are natural making for an all around great quality product. I really like it and it’s quickly become part of my every day body skin care routine.
