Glossier is here!

Glossier has finally arrived in Canada, woohoo!!! Previously Glossier only delivered within the US and even if you had a US address to send the product to, you needed to have a US zip code billing address in order to use your credit card. It was pretty much mission impossible for Canadians to get their hands on Glossier unless you were visiting the show room in New York. As of today they are now shipping to most Canadians (with the exception of Quebec) so get your orders in friends! Here is a link for 10% off your first order

It had taken me many months to finally get my hands on this highly coveted yet reasonably priced brand. And of course it figures that shipping to Canada would become available right after! But on the bright side readers, now I have product reviews and recommendations ready.

So where to start? I went for some of the most talked about products so I could see what all the fuss is about. I would order most again but not all. Here’s what I purchased:

Milky Jelly Cleanser ($22 CAD)

The Milky Jelly Cleanser is a super gentle conditioning face wash that is supposed to remove makeup and cleanse the skin. It can be used wet or dry and contains the same cleansing agents found in contact lens solution so it’s safe to use on your eyes. I didn’t have a lot of luck using it to remove eye makeup, especially waterproof cream shadow. I still had to go back in after with Bioderma to take some of the mascara off. If you are going to use this at night then you will definitely need a separate makeup remover. I prefer this much more as a morning cleanser. It’s gentle and refreshes the skin leaving it soft and ready for skincare and makeup. I would repurchase this one.

Stretch Concealer ($22 CAD)

The Stretch Concealer is a buildable formula that is meant to move with your face and leaves a dewy glow. It’s very moisturizing and feels great on the under eye area. It doesn’t look thick or cakey but it does settle into some fine lines. The formula is not really that buildable and if you are looking for more coverage then this isn’t going to do it. It would be a great concealer for younger skin, good for under eye circles but not blemish coverage. You get a lot of product so it’s a very good value! I will use the rest but probably not repurchase.

Boy Brow ($20 CAD)

At first I thought this was similar to the Benefit Gimme Brow or the Joe Fresh Tinted Brow Fix but after using it for a week, I actually prefer the formula of this much more! It’s not too wet to apply and doesn’t feel stiff once dry. It leaves your brows with a natural looking finish and is easier to use vs the other two. The brush is the same but there is a big difference in the formula. I will definitely repurchase this one! I got the brown but would actually go a little darker if you have dark brown hair. I would opt for the black next time.

Cloud Paint ($22)

The Cloud Paint is a gel type blush that comes in a squeeze tube. Available in four colours, I went with Dusk which is a beautiful nude shade that doubles nicely as a bronzer for light to medium skin tones. The formula is actually a little more watery than gel in consistency but it blends into the skin beautifully. A little goes a long way so again, this is really great value for the amount of product you get. I would definitely repurchase in other shades.

Birthday Balm Dotcom ($15 CAD)

BdayBalm_04

This might be my favourite Glossier product! Balm Dotcom is a universal skin salve that comes in different tints and/or scents. I ordered the Birthday flavour (inspired by Momofuku Milk Bar’s famous cake) and it’s everything the teenager in me loves. Slight shimmer and it smells amazing! You couldn’t really use this flavour as a universal skin salve and you wouldn’t want to waste it that way to be honest. I think the “universal use” aspect applies more to the original version which is unflavoured and clear. I like the formula so much that I will repurchase in various scents.

I also received a sample of the Priming Moisturizer with my order and I love it! It’s light weight and provides a really nice base for makeup. It would be great for normal to oily skin tones. Probably not moisturizing enough for dry skin but they do make a Rich version so dry skin peeps are covered too!

And of course, I have already put another order in today…..I need help, someone needs to stop me from ordering everything. I ordered the Cloud Paint in Puff (light pink), Balm Dotcom in Original, the Priming Moisturizer and Haloscope (highlighter) in Quartz. More reviews on the way!

Let me know in the comments below if you have ordered anything or readers in the US, please comment on what your fave products are.
